As a Software Engineer, you'll own projects end-to-end, work directly with customers, and shape core product architecture in an AI-first, communications-enabled environment. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role for engineers who thrive at the intersection of backend systems, real-time communication, and product thinking.<br/><br/>What You'll Do<br/><br/><ul><li>Work closely with customers to understand their problems and design product experiences that solve them.</li><li>Build scalable backend infrastructure capable of handling thousands of parallel AI phone calls per day.</li><li>Create intuitive, AI-first user interfaces and experiences.</li><li>Own high-stakes projects end-to-end — from concept and architecture through production deployment and post-release support.</li><li>Contribute to core architectural decisions that shape the direction of the product.<br/><br/></li></ul>What We're Looking For<br/><br/><strong>Required<br/><br/></strong><ul><li>2+ years of professional software engineering experience.</li><li>Strong experience with PostgreSQL.</li><li>Proven ability to design scalable backend architectures and make core product/architectural decisions.</li><li>Hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Python.</li><li>Experience taking a product from 0 to 1.</li><li>Strong collaboration skills — able to work cross-functionally and translate customer problems into product solutions.</li><li>Ability to own projects fully, from concept to production and ongoing support.<br/><br/></li></ul><strong>Nice To Have<br/><br/></strong><ul><li>Familiarity with Temporal.io, Twilio, or Modal.</li><li>Experience with scalable async processing or real-time processing systems.</li><li>Background building products for AI-first or communications-enabled platforms.<br/><br/></li></ul>Tech Stack<br/><br/><ul><li>TypeScript, React, TanStack, Node.js, Python</li><li>PostgreSQL, Temporal.io, Twilio, Modal<br/><br/></li></ul>Compensation &amp; Benefits<br/><br/><ul><li>Salary range: $75,000 – $160,000 USD annually</li><li>Visa sponsorship available<br/><br/></li></ul>Location<br/><br/>This is a fully <strong>on-site</strong> role based in <strong>Berlin, Germany</strong>.
