JHC Consulting is currently supporting a major Austrian logistics firm that is expanding its operations. To assist with the coordination of this mandate and other upcoming engagements, we are seeking a Scrum Master Intern. Within our firm, the Scrum Master role is not about hosting typical ceremonies or managing software development tickets. Instead, you will apply the principles of agility and process management to a high level advisory environment. This is a fully remote, full time position intended for an individual who values intellectual rigor and wants to see how strategic decisions are formed in a private advisory practice.

The Role
In this role, your primary task is to facilitate the flow of work between our principals and our clients. You will not be building slide decks or managing complex project management software. Your work revolves around the discipline of the written word. You will assist in organizing the delivery of memoranda by tracking progress, identifying bottlenecks in the research stages, and ensuring that our written arguments are delivered on a schedule that respects the client's needs. Specifically for the Austrian logistics project, you will help synthesize internal findings and ensure the team remains focused on the core governance and strategy questions at hand.
Day to day, you will be reading internal documents, drafting concise updates on our progress, and conducting analysis on the coordination of multiple workstreams. You will help move the work forward by asking sharp questions that uncover hidden obstacles. Because we do not rely on standard consulting rituals, your ability to provide written clarity on the status of our work is essential. You will learn to use agile frameworks as a tool for sharpening our thinking rather than as a rigid set of rules.

What You Bring
We are looking for an individual who possesses intellectual maturity and a high degree of common sense. You do not need years of professional experience, but you must have a foundational understanding of project management principles or agile methodologies. This might come from your university studies, a certification, or a previous internship. What matters most is your ability to think and write with precision. You should be someone who notices when an argument is incomplete and who has the courage to point out gaps in a process.

A strong academic background in business, management, finance, or a related field.

The ability to write clearly and professionally in English, avoiding jargon and filler.

An analytical mindset that can break down complex problems into manageable tasks.

Familiarity with the Scrum framework and an interest in applying it to advisory work.

The discipline to work autonomously in a fully remote setting.

A high attention to detail, particularly regarding the accuracy of written records.

Curiosity about corporate governance, strategy, and leadership.

The capacity to handle confidential information with discretion.

How We Work
JHC Consulting operates under a single author model. We believe that written argument produces sharper thinking than conversation or presentations. Every memorandum we produce is authored by the individual who conducted the reading and the analysis. We do not hide behind group consensus: the work is signed and the author is held accountable for their logic. As an intern, you will find yourself in an environment where your written contributions are scrutinized for clarity and accuracy. We expect every member of the firm, regardless of seniority, to provide a dissenting read when they see a flaw in our internal cases.

Working at JHC Consulting
This role is 100% remote. We are a deliberate firm that values the quiet required for deep work. You will have the autonomy to manage your own schedule, provided that the work is completed to our standards. We do not monitor your hours, but we do expect excellence in your output. This is a paid internship, and the pay is competitive for the role and the current market. You will receive direct mentorship from principals who have backgrounds in corporate finance and strategic advisory, giving you a rare look into the world of private counsel for boards and chief executives.
Every piece of work we produce at JHC Consulting is a permanent record of our thinking. Our clients rely on our memoranda to make difficult decisions that will affect their organizations for years. By joining us as a Scrum Master Intern, you will learn the importance of individual accountability and the power of a well reasoned argument. You will be expected to stand behind your work and contribute to a culture where the quality of the thought is the only thing that matters.
