The company operates at the intersection of precision engineering and advanced software development, with a strong culture of quality, structured delivery, and long-term project investment.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Stuttgart, Germany</p><p><strong>Home Office:</strong> Up to 60%</p><p><strong>Contract:</strong> <strong>ANÜ</strong> | 24 months</p><p><strong>Hours:</strong> 35–40 hours per week</p><p><strong>Start:</strong> ASAP</p><p><strong>Salary:</strong> up to €85,000pa (Negotiable)</p><p><strong>Security:</strong> No Sicherheitsüberprüfung required — NfD briefing will be completed on commencement </p><p><strong>Languages:</strong> German (fluent / business level) and English (working knowledge)</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>You will join a cross-location agile development team building and maintaining software for complex technical devices in a security-related environment. The focus is application-level software running on Embedded Linux platforms — this is not a microcontroller or firmware role. The work involves implementing new functionality in C++, analysing and resolving defects, integrating and testing code, and supporting approval and certification processes.</p><p>This is a stable, long-term engagement with a well-resourced team and a clear technical focus. If you are a software developer with a strong Linux background who has worked on device-level software rather than bare-metal firmware, this role is worth a look.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Working within a cross-location agile team to implement new features in C++ in a security-related codebase; analysing and fixing software defects; testing and integrating code into the product; and supporting the approval and certification process.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Your Background</strong></p><p>You bring advanced knowledge of C/C++ and object-oriented software development, solid Python skills, and extended hands-on experience with Embedded Linux. You are comfortable working at the application and system software level on Linux-based devices — think software that runs on hardware, not software that runs instead of an OS. Experience in a safety or security environment is important, as is an understanding of the quality disciplines that come with it.</p><p><br/></p><p>You communicate confidently in German at a business level and have a working knowledge of English.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Nice to have:</strong> Experience with systemd/dbus and CMake.</p><p><br/></p><p><em>Interested or know someone who might be?
