The business is scaling quickly and has outgrown its current reporting infrastructure — manual spreadsheets and disconnected pipelines are standing in for automated, trusted reporting on core commercial metrics.</p><p><br/></p><p>You'll come in as the independent technical authority: auditing existing pipelines end-to-end, diagnosing exactly why current systems and governance investments haven't delivered automated reporting, and architecting the target-state fix, hierarchy/master data mapping, semantic layer design, and metrics governed centrally as code.</p><p><br/></p><p>This isn't a build-from-a-blank-page role, and it isn't a maintain-what-exists role either. It's forensic, strategic, and fast-moving: you diagnose, you design, and you hand over a blueprint the business can execute against.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>What You'll Do</strong></p><p><br/></p><ul><li>Audit and trace existing data pipelines end-to-end, from source systems through to executive BI dashboards</li><li>Diagnose the technical root causes behind reporting gaps, manual workarounds, and governance shortfalls</li><li>Architect a target-state enterprise data model, including master data/hierarchy mapping and a centralized semantic layer</li><li>Co-design the solution directly with the Data Governance Lead and Director of Data</li><li>Deliver a working MVP for core sales reporting metrics within an aggressive 3-month window, while laying the foundation for a longer-term enterprise rollout</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>What You'll Bring</strong></p><p><br/></p><ul><li>Extensive experience as a Senior Data Architect or Data Engineer, ideally including complex, multi-domain or product-led organisations</li><li>Strong track record in data lineage tracing, root-cause diagnostics, and legacy pipeline audits</li><li>Deep experience with master data management, hierarchy/crosswalk mapping, and semantic layer or metrics-as-code frameworks (e.g. dbt or equivalent)</li><li>Broad, platform-agnostic cloud experience (GCP, AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks) — comfort working across fragmented, multi-cloud environments is more valuable than depth in a single stack</li><li>A proven ability to operate independently, take ownership of ambiguous problems, and influence senior stakeholders including C-suite</li><li>Prior experience in an interim, consultancy, or contract capacity is strongly preferred</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>The Details</strong></p><ul><li>Location: Zurich (on-site presence required, particularly during initial onboarding)</li><li>Contract: 6 months initially, with strong potential to extend</li><li>Day rate, contract basis</li><li>Start date: ASAP</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>Senior Data Architect | Contract | Zurich | 6 Months + Likely Extension</strong></p> </div>
