More than an e-bike, it is a statement of possibility — where engineering, aesthetics, and purpose converge to create the ultimate riding experience for the cities of today and the roads of tomorrow.</p><p><br/></p><p>We are immediately looking for a</p><p><strong>System Engineer – Electrical and Wiring 100 %</strong></p><p>We are looking for System Engineer – Electrical and Wiring to take ownership of the complete electrical architecture of VIIALA’s speedpedelec platform. This role is responsible for defining how all electrical components are powered and connected — from high-level system architecture down to wiring harnesses, connectors, and network topology. You will ensure that the bike’s electrical system is robust, scalable, and ready for integration, enabling all subsystems (drive, smart system, HMI, connectivity) to function as one coherent product. This is a critical role — it is about <strong>turning system concepts into a physically and electrically integrated product</strong>.</p><p><br/></p><strong>Key Responsibilities<br/></strong><span>E/E System Architecture Ownership</span><ul><li>Define and own the overall electrical / electronic architecture:</li><li>Control units and components</li><li>Power distribution across the system</li><li>Network topology (e.g. CAN, Ethernet)</li><li>Ensure a coherent architecture across:</li><li>Drive System</li><li>Smart System</li><li>Digital interfaces</li></ul><span>Wiring &amp; Harness Design</span><ul><li>Own the full wiring architecture, including:</li><li>Wiring harness concepts and layout</li><li>Connector strategy</li><li>Junction boxes and routing principles</li><li>Develop wiring diagrams and ensure they reach production maturity</li><li>Ensure serviceability, robustness, and manufacturability of the wiring system</li></ul><span>Power Distribution</span><ul><li>Define voltage domains (e.g. high voltage, low voltage)</li><li>Design and manage power distribution across all components</li><li>Align with drive system requirements (battery, charging, loads)</li></ul><span>Network &amp; Communication Architecture (Physical Layer)</span><ul><li>Define and implement communication topology:</li><li>CAN bus structure</li><li>Node layout and segmentation</li><li>Physical layer integration</li><li>Ensure alignment with system-level communication requirements</li></ul><span>Interface Definition</span><ul><li>Define electrical and signal interfaces between components</li><li>Ensure consistency and completeness of signal definitions</li><li>Support API and communication alignment with Smart System and Digital teams</li></ul><span>Supplier &amp; Partner Collaboration</span><ul><li>Work closely with suppliers on:</li><li>Electrical integration</li><li>Harness design and components</li><li>Interface definitions</li><li>Review and validate supplier designs and proposals</li></ul><span>Integration Support</span><ul><li>Support system integration and debugging:</li><li>Identify and resolve electrical issues</li><li>Support validation and testing</li><li>Ensure all subsystems are correctly connected and functioning</li></ul><span>Profile &amp; Experience</span><ul><li>5–10+ years in:</li><li>Electrical engineering</li><li>E/E architecture</li><li>Wiring harness design</li><li>Experience in:</li><li>Automotive, e-mobility, or complex electromechanical systems</li></ul><span>Capabilities</span><ul><li>Strong understanding of:</li><li>Electrical system architecture</li><li>Wiring and harness design</li><li>Power distribution systems</li><li>Communication protocols (CAN, etc.)</li><li>Ability to translate system concepts into physical implementation</li></ul><span>Mindset</span><ul><li>Strong ownership mentality</li><li>Detail-oriented and structured</li><li>Hands-on and pragmatic</li><li>Comfortable working in early-stage product development</li></ul><span>Skills &amp; Competencies</span><p><span>· Strong project management and organizational skills</span></p><p><span>· Ability to balance technical detail with strategic vision</span></p><p><span>· Customer-centric mindset, with deep appreciation for premium consumer experience</span></p><p><span>· Excellent communication and presentation skills</span></p><p><span>· Entrepreneurial, innovative, and solution-oriented attitude</span></p><p><span>· Passion for cycling, performance sports, and mobility innovation</span></p><p><span>· Fluent in English, German and French a plus</span></p><p><br/></p><span>What We Offer</span><p><span>· The opportunity to shape a pioneering premium e-bike brand from the ground up.</span></p><p><span>· Collaboration with world-class innovators, engineers, designers, and partners.</span></p><p><span>· Competitive compensation package, including performance-based incentives, value sharing</span></p><p><span>· A culture built on passion, performance, and innovation</span></p><p><span>· Opportunity to build something truly new in mobility</span></p><p><span>· Join a highly ambitious international team</span></p><p><span>· Modern working location in Bern</span></p><p>Have we raised your interest?
