As the family office of the Princely House of Liechtenstein, we have years of experience in the management of sizeable sums of assets.<br/><br/><strong> Your challenge <br/><br/></strong>As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key member of LGT’s GenAI team in Zurich, co-creating production-grade applications together with business teams and engineering partners.<br/><br/>In this role, you will design, build, and operate scalable software solutions end-to-end across backend and frontend, with a strong focus on software engineering excellence, architecture, security, and maintainability. You will work on modern web applications, APIs, enterprise integrations, and Kubernetes-based infrastructure, helping bring innovative use cases into reliable production environments.<br/><br/>You will also explore how AI services can enhance products and engineering workflows. Deep AI expertise is not required; however, you should have a basic understanding of AI concepts and a strong interest in applying managed AI services and APIs responsibly in a regulated environment.<br/><br/>As a member of the team, you will contribute to architecture decisions and engineering standards, collaborate closely with colleagues, and help scale software engineering capabilities across LGT. The role requires strong hands-on engineering skills, sound technical judgment, and a pragmatic, product-oriented mindset.<br/><br/><ul><li>Design, build, test, and operate production-grade applications end-to-end across backend and frontend. </li><li>Develop robust APIs, backend services, data integrations, and intuitive web user interfaces. </li><li>Translate business needs into maintainable technical solutions in close collaboration with stakeholders, designers, and engineering partners. </li><li>Contribute to solution architecture, technical decisions, and engineering standards across the team. </li><li>Write high-quality, secure, and well-tested code and apply modern software engineering practices </li><li>Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and improve their reliability, performance, and observability. </li><li>Work with other teams to integrate AI workflows into their tools and business processes. </li><li>Support other teams in designing and exposing APIs for AI-enabled use cases, including through standards such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP). </li><li>Evaluate new technologies pragmatically, share knowledge, and contribute to reusable platform components and engineering practices. <br/><br/></li></ul><strong> Your profile <br/><br/></strong><ul><li>3+ years of professional software engineering experience with a proven track record of delivering and operating production applications. </li><li>Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams. </li><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience. </li><li>Strong backend development skills, preferably in Java or Python, and experience designing and building APIs and services (e.g., SpringBoot or FastAPI). </li><li>Strong frontend development skills with TypeScript or JavaScript and a modern framework (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue). </li><li>Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including clean code, design patterns, testing, security, and maintainable architecture. </li><li>Solid DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, containerization, deployment automation, and infrastructure as code. </li><li>Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker, including deploying, operating, and troubleshooting containerized applications. </li><li>Basic understanding of AI and generative AI concepts, plus an interest in integrating AI services and APIs into software products.
