It's also one of the least digitised.</p><p>Despite €2 trillion flowing through the sector each year, most general contractors still find subcontractors the way they did in 1995 — phone calls, spreadsheets, and personal networks. There's an obvious better way, and a small group of companies are racing to build it.</p><p>I'm partnering with a Berlin-headquartered, well-funded scale-up that has become the category leader in DACH for connecting general contractors with verified subcontractors. Their two-sided marketplace has real liquidity, real customers, and a roadmap that just outgrew their current product team.</p><p><br/></p><p>That's where this role comes in.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>What you'd own</strong></p><ul><li>Discovery and delivery on a core surface of the marketplace — the kind of work where the right product decisions move supply liquidity, match quality, and trust</li><li>A direct line to users who are not abstract personas: project managers on real construction sites, subcontractors quoting on real jobs</li><li>Close partnership with engineering, design, and commercial teams as the business scales from regional leader to European platform</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>You'd likely bring</strong></p><ul><li>3–5+ years as a product manager in B2B SaaS, ideally with marketplace or two-sided platform experience</li><li>A discovery-first instinct; you'd rather spend a week with users than a week refining a Notion doc</li><li>Fluent German and English (both essential — the team, the users, and the market are German-speaking)</li><li>Bonus points for any background in construction, real estate, logistics, or any fragmented B2B industry where the supply side is still offline</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>The package</strong></p><ul><li>€90–100k base</li><li>Remote Hybrid working from Berlin</li><li>A product opportunity in a sector that has resisted software for decades and is finally cracking open</li></ul><p><br/></p><p>If you're a PM who finds it more interesting to fix something the industry actually needs than to optimise another consumer onboarding flow, I'd love to talk.</p> </div>
