Senior ML Perception Engineer | Zurich | Robotics Want to build perception systems that do more than look good in a demo? I’m working with a robotics company in Zurich developing autonomy technology for heavy machines in real-world environments. This is a chance to join a team solving hard perception problems where the work goes from research into deployment, and where your models need to perform on real equipment, not just in controlled settings. You would be joining a highly technical team working across robotics, perception and machine intelligence, helping push forward the next generation of autonomous systems in an area of robotics where the impact is very tangible. Key responsibilities Lead the development of real-time perception models for robotics applications Build and improve multimodal object detection, tracking and segmentation systems Define evaluation frameworks, performance metrics and testing processes Work closely with cross-functional teams across robotics, software and deployment Benchmark and validate systems in real-world test environments Mentor more junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the team Requirements Strong experience in ML perception, computer vision or robotics perception Good depth in object detection, tracking, segmentation or sensor fusion Experience working with image, LiDAR or radar data Strong Python and modern C++ skills in Linux environments Background building production-grade ML systems, not just research prototypes Experience with large-scale datasets, evaluation pipelines and model monitoring Exposure to simulation, synthetic data, domain adaptation, or self/semi-supervised learning is useful Likely background in autonomous driving, mobile robotics, industrial robotics, construction tech, agriculture robotics or a similarly relevant field This would suit someone who wants real ownership, enjoys hard technical problems, and likes the idea of seeing their work have a direct impact on how robots operate in the physical world.
