Where artificial intelligence, virtual reality, 3D printing, robotics, and high-performance computing converge to enable digital innovation.<br/><br/></em><em>Now imagine yourself in this space: guiding and inspiring students as they explore these powerful tools, connecting them to enterprises and empowering them to solve real-world industry challenges with creativity and forward-thinking solutions.<br/><br/></em><strong>As a Lab Expert and Manager for Digital Business Innovation (f/m/d) of our new WKO Lab, located at the WIFI in Linz, you will bring digital technology to life.</strong> You’ll foster collaboration between student groups and industry partners, showcase the transformative potential of digital innovations, and help bridge the gap between ideas and impactful applications.<br/><br/>Your tasks and responsibilities:<br/><br/><ul><li>Lab Management &amp; Operations: Implement a comprehensive lab organization concept, ensuring proper maintenance of digital infrastructure, smooth operations, and timely software updates. Manage lab schedules in collaboration with lecturers.</li><li>Teaching &amp; Supporting Students: Instruct students on digital technologies and innovation tools, providing hands-on support for technical setups, applications, and troubleshooting.</li><li>Safety Compliance &amp; Certification: Develop and maintain a robust lab safety concept, enforce safety protocols, participate in required safety certification courses, and provide necessary safety training to both students and faculty members.</li><li>Resource Coordination &amp; Vendor Management: Align laboratory resources with project-based learning requirements and coordinate with external vendors for software, platforms, and equipment procurement.</li><li>Strategic Collaboration &amp; Outreach: Work closely with IT:U’s Learning and Outreach divisions to advance the lab’s capabilities and develop the lab as a satellite space for university activities. Facilitate events in cooperation with the WKO OÖ.<br/><br/></li></ul>Your strengths and skills:<br/><br/><ul><li>PhD degree or equivalent related to digital innovation, entrepreneurship, information systems, business informatics, digital transformation, or a similar field.</li><li>Work experience in at least two of these fields, preferably in an educational, research or industry environment.</li><li>Proficiency in working with digital technologies and tools relevant to innovation, prototyping and digital business development. </li><li>Teaching experience, experience in supporting practical innovation projects and translating digital opportunities into real-world applications is highly welcome.</li><li>Expertise in digital business models, SME collaboration, innovation processes and/or interdisciplinary teamwork is of advantage.</li><li>Strong understanding of responsible technology use, compliance, and operational procedures.</li><li>Knowledge of the (Upper) Austrian industry landscape is a plus.</li><li>Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and German (minimum level C1).<br/><br/></li></ul>What you can expect:<br/><br/><ul><li>Work in a highly inspiring academic environment together with other lab experts, lecturers and researchers from an interdisciplinary background.</li><li>Be the creator and manager of a vibrant space where digital entrepreneurship, experimentation, and new business models thrive.</li><li>Be the driving force behind a unique satellite space, collaborating closely with the WKO OÖ and the regional innovation ecosystem.</li><li>Free parking or Climate Ticket Upper Austria.</li><li>Flexible working hours through a flextime model and the option for home office.<br/><br/></li></ul>Competitive compensation starting from € 63.000 yearly gross salary. </div>
