Junior Analytics Analyst

Alpine Business Consulting is a team of specialists who fix enterprise performance management and reporting systems. When companies invest in expensive planning tools, the implementation often cuts corners, leaving finance teams with data that does not match and reports that no one trusts. We step in to clean up the mess, building a single source of truth that actually works. We are currently supporting a client in the logistics sector to overhaul their internal data pipelines and reporting structures. As part of this engagement, we are looking for a Junior Analytics Analyst to assist our senior consultants in delivering clean, reliable data systems.

About Alpine Business Consulting
We focus on transparency and predictability in everything we do. Our team avoids the typical corporate fluff and high-energy sales pitches. Instead, we spend our time on configuration, documentation, and ensuring that our clients have the training they need to stay independent once our work is done. We work with tools like Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and modern analytics stacks, but our focus is always on the quality of the data rather than the brand of the software. Every member of our team works in a fully remote environment, allowing us to recruit based on skill and clear communication rather than physical location. We believe that if a system is built correctly, it should be simple to maintain and easy to understand.

The role
In this position, you will support the technical team as we rebuild the reporting framework for a large logistics firm. Logistics data is often fragmented across multiple legacy systems, making it difficult for management to see the true cost of shipping or warehouse operations. You will help bridge these gaps by assisting with data reconciliation and testing. This is a junior role, so you will spend much of your time working alongside senior consultants who have decades of real-world experience. You will be responsible for keeping documentation up to date and verifying that the numbers in our new dashboards match the raw data from the logistics platform. This role is permanent, full-time, and 100% remote.

What we will do together

Review messy data sets from logistics systems to identify errors or gaps.

Assist in the configuration of new reporting dashboards and financial models.

Create clear, simple documentation that explains how data flows from point A to point B.

Test system updates to ensure that month-end reports remain accurate and stable.

Support the senior team in preparing training materials for client finance teams.

Monitor data quality alerts and help resolve discrepancies before they reach the user.

Help maintain a clean data environment where every number can be traced to Its source.

Contribute to internal knowledge sharing about common implementation mistakes.

What we need from you

A basic understanding of data structures and how databases are organized.

Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and data formatting.

The ability to write clear, plain English for technical documentation and guides.

A curious mind that enjoys investigating why two numbers do not match.

Willingness to learn how enterprise performance management systems function.

Strong attention to detail, especially when reviewing long lists of logistics records.

Reliable communication skills suited for a fully remote work environment.

Commitment to the idea that a project is not finished until the manual is written.

What the role offers
This is a paid position, offering a competitive rate that is attractive for an entry-level professional entering the consulting field. Because we do not use client projects as a training ground for unsupervised juniors, you will receive more direct mentorship than you would at a larger firm. You will see how systems are built from the ground up and learn the common pitfalls that cause enterprise projects to fail. Working here means you will be part of a team that values quality over billable hours and documentation over fancy presentations. We provide a stable, remote working environment where you can focus on building your technical skills without the distraction of an office commute.

How we work
Our firm operates on the principle that the client should not be tethered to a consultant forever. We aim to hand over a system that is so well-documented that the client team can handle daily tasks on their own. We prioritize fixed-price quotes and realistic timelines. You will find that we are direct, honest, and sometimes skeptical of new trends that promise more than they can deliver. We focus on the fundamentals: clean data, stable configuration, and reliable reporting. This approach has helped us build a reputation for fixing projects that other firms have walked away from, and it is the same approach we will teach you during your time with us.
