The team develops and operates a Debian-based Linux distribution along with the supporting infrastructure for complex medical devices and highly critical, regulated healthcare environments.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>This role is key to building, operating, and evolving a robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure platform that supports development, testing, and production use cases. The workplace i<strong>s Rotkreu</strong>z with <strong>a flexible hybrid model</strong> (approximately 50% onsite, flexible working hours<strong>).</strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Tasks &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Build, operate, and evolve the infrastructure landscape, from hardware and physical networking to highly available on-premise cluster environments</li><li>Select, procure, integrate, and commission hardware components for the infrastructure platform</li><li>Contribute to Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environments for medical devices</li><li>Design, build, and maintain platform services such as build servers, CI runners, and artifact repositories</li><li>Integrate external dependencies including compute, storage, networking, and tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Artifactory, and Slack</li><li>Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions for automated infrastructure management</li><li>Build and operate monitoring, alerting, and inventory management systems</li><li>Provide self-service platforms for developers and solution engineers, including access to HIL systems for debugging and testing</li><li>Design and implement lifecycle management concepts for infrastructure and hardware components</li><li>Define and execute backup, disaster recovery, and emergency strategies</li><li>Operate and evolve cloud infrastructure and integrate hybrid cloud and on-premise environments</li><li>Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub-based workflows)</li><li>Collaborate closely with Software Engineering, Solution Architecture, Product Teams, and other technical stakeholders</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>Your Profile</strong></p><ul><li>8+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or in a similar role</li><li>University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related technical field</li><li>Proven experience in designing, building, and operating complex infrastructure platforms, including production and user-facing systems</li><li>Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, system reliability, security, and operational excellence</li><li>Experience working closely with Software Engineers, Solution Architects, and Product/Platform teams</li><li>Ability to independently lead technical initiatives and drive infrastructure improvements</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and experience in complex, fast-paced technical environments</li><li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders</li><li>Fluent in English (written and spoken); German is a plus</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with virtualization, container technologies (e.g., Kubernetes), and CI/CD systems</li><li>Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform)</li><li>Experience in embedded systems, hardware-near engineering, or ARM-based platforms</li><li>Experience building hardware/software integration and testing environments</li><li>Experience in regulated environments (MedTech, Pharma, Life Sciences)</li><li>Experience with hybrid cloud and on-premise architectures</li><li>German language skills are a plus</li></ul><p></p> </div>
