The Nationale Klimaschutzinitiative (NKI) is a program of the German federal government, specifically under the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). Established in 2008, it initiates and funds climate protection projects across Germany. Its primary goal is to contribute to Germany's national climate goals, aiming for greenhouse gas neutrality by 2045, by supporting various actors including municipalities, businesses, and educational institutions.
