The Medical University of Vienna (MedUni Vienna) is a public university in Vienna, Austria, and the direct successor to the medical faculty of the University of Vienna, which was founded in 1365. It became an independent institution in 2004 and is now one of Europe's largest and most renowned medical universities. MedUni Vienna focuses on a "triple track" strategy encompassing research, education, and patient care, and provides medical staff for the Vienna General Hospital, Europe's largest hospital.
