The Kassenärztliche Bundesvereinigung (KBV) is the umbrella organization for 17 regional Kassenärztliche Vereinigungen in Germany. It is responsible for organizing nationwide, local outpatient healthcare for approximately 73-75 million statutory health insurance holders and represents the interests of over 189,000 contracted doctors and psychotherapists at the federal level. As a public law corporation, it operates under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Health.
