Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) is a scientific research center in Germany that investigates complex materials for future energy technologies, such as solar cells and batteries. It operates and develops large-scale scientific infrastructures, including the synchrotron radiation source BESSY II. HZB is a member of the Helmholtz Association, Germany's largest scientific organization.
