The Biathlon Integrity Unit (BIU) is an independent body responsible for safeguarding the integrity of biathlon globally. It handles all integrity-related matters, including anti-doping, ethical breaches, safeguarding issues, betting-related issues, and competition manipulation. Established in 2019, the BIU operates as an independent unit of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) to ensure ethical issues in the sport are addressed expertly and without influence. Its mission is to promote and enforce the Integrity Code and deliver education, investigation, and anti-doping programs.
