Shine offers a connected solution for invoicing, accounting, payroll, business accounts, payments, and financing, meaning business owners can focus their energy on growing a healthy business, not held back by manual admin.

Part of something bigger

Today we're part of Cegid, a European leader in cloud software for finance and accounting. Together we're building Europe's leading financial copilot for small businesses and their accountants.

Shine already supports more than 400,000 small businesses. As part of Cegid, we now reach over one million small businesses and 15,000 accountants across Europe.

We're a multicultural team working from France, Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands, contributing to a wider European network that spans Spain, Portugal and Belgium.

Your Hiring Experience Matters

Just as we respect our customers' time, we respect yours. Your experience with Shine and Cegid should feel simple, transparent and genuinely supportive.

If this sounds like somewhere you want to grow, we'd love to hear from you.

Your Role as a Staff Product Design

We're hiring three Staff Product Designers to own critical product domains at Shine — shaping experience direction across teams, aligning stakeholders around long-term coherence, and raising the bar for how design decisions get made.

Rather than listing three separate roles, we're running one shared process — because at the Staff level, it's about strategic thinking, craft leadership, and cross-team influence, not domain knowledge alone. In our first conversation, we'll explore your background and figure out together which of the three teams is the best fit for you.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Own the full design process end-to-end, from framing ambiguous opportunities to validating shipped impact and supporting implementation — with minimal oversight in your domain.

Shape a coherent product and experience vision that connects user needs with business strategy, bringing fragmented surfaces and products into a unified, native-feeling Shine ecosystem.

Lead data-driven discovery: set up the right research frameworks, rituals, and metrics so insight-led design becomes the default, and close the loop back into product direction.

Partner with Product, Engineering, and domain experts (Tax, Banking, Accounting) to balance short-term needs against long-term coherence, making trade-offs legible and defensible.

Uphold design quality and craft across web, mobile, and hardware surfaces, and act as a design authority for cross-product decisions, simplification, and shared patterns.

Contribute to the unified Design System (components, tokens, governance) and drive alignment across domains.

Anchor decisions in clear success metrics, define experience KPIs, and measure whether shipped work actually moves the needle.

Mentor designers and own the collective quality bar of your tribe.

📍 Job located in Berlin, Madrid & Porto with possibility of two remote working days per week

About You

8+ years designing digital products, with a strong track record at Staff level or equivalent.

You think in systems and ship in details. Holding a long-term vision while staying close to what users need today.

Strong product thinking and problem framing: you turn ambiguity into clear hypotheses and make trade-offs legible to PMs and Engineers.

Proven ability to lead data-driven discovery: you’ve set up research frameworks, defined success metrics, and used both to change decisions.

Deep design craft with a solid grasp of engineering constraints and business context; hands-on experience contributing to design systems.

Comfortable in lean environments — you create clarity and own scope rather than waiting for it to be defined.

A natural collaborator across teams who builds alignment without slowing things down.

You actively use AI tools to accelerate prototyping and exploration (Claude, Cursor).

Bonus: experience in payments, commerce, invoicing, accounting, fintech, or hardware-adjacent interfaces (terminals, POS).

Our recruitment process

1️⃣ A 45' intro call with Saskia to get to know each other, talk through your experience, and explore which of our three open Staff Product Designer roles fits you best.

2️⃣ A 45' interview with the relevant Hiring Manager to dive deeper into your background and the specific role.

3️⃣ A 60' portfolio review — walk us through work that shows how you think, not just what you shipped.

4️⃣ A live design critique exercise to see how you engage with real problems and give and receive feedback.

5️⃣ A personality assessment and a conversation with senior leadership to round things off.
