This isn't agency work — there's no handing off a project at launch and moving on. You'll live inside a systemic design language across releases, refining and evolving it continuously, much like a product engineering team would.

You'll work across touchscreen interfaces, hardware controls, and the interaction between them — designing for products where the complexity is real and the standard solution rarely exists.

What You'll Do

Design visual interfaces and interactions, contributing to a design system built on Atomic Design principles at a high level

Conceive and design apps across mobile (iOS & Android), web, desktop, and cross-platform contexts — flowcharts, wireframes, UI

Design Human Machine Interfaces (HMI): hardware controls (buttons, rotary dials), and the interplay between hardware and software

Lead UX work from discovery through information architecture, usability testing, and iterative feedback loops

Explore and apply AI-based workflows for design, prototyping, and process improvement

(Nice to have) Contribute to user research, competitive analysis, and UI/UX audits

What We're Looking For

Experience

7+ years in a professional design role, ideally senior UX/UI

Strong command of Figma and FigJam, plus Adobe CC

Comfortable learning new software quickly and independently

A Design Instinct That's Hard to Teach We're after someone with a genuinely strong sense for systemic, rules- and grid-based design — someone who reads aesthetic harmony in numerical relationships and proportional systems. If sophisticated, structured design is where you do your best work, this role was built for you.

An Affinity for Technology This role calls for complex, transferable problem-solving and a real curiosity about new tools and methods. A solid foundation in systematic web/app design is essential, and experience with hardware interfaces is highly valued — whether that's from automotive cockpits, robotics, event technology, immersive installations, or elsewhere. Music and audio experience isn't required, but it's a strong plus.

Bonus Points If You...

Have made music, operated a mixing console, or know your way around audio effects

Have hands-on experience with DAWs (Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or similar)

Personal Qualities

High personal standards and a genuine passion for great design

Able to work independently and take real ownership — from planning through execution, cross-departmental communication, and presentations

Curious and willing to explore new subject matter, technologies, and software

Sound English communication skills (the team operates roughly 50% in English)

Why This Role

In most agency settings, budget and time pressure push you toward standard solutions — you build to a template and move on. Here, the complexity is too high and the requirements too individual for that. You'll engage deeply and continuously with a systemic design language, working from release to release rather than project to project.

It's a role for people who enjoy wrestling with hard problems to find intelligent solutions — and who want to build something they can be genuinely proud of.

Details

Location: Willich, Germany

Employment: Full-time

Salary: €65,000–€75,000

Travel: Moderate international travel expected

Remote work: Flexible, subject to team consen
