We design, build, and manage critical cloud-based IT infrastructures, relying on our proven, standardized tool stack for container platforms, security measures, and CI/CD solutions.</p><br/><p>To expand our team, we’re seeking a <strong>Senior System Engineer.</strong> In this role, you will lead challenging customer projects and act as the Single Point of Contact for select Service Level Agreements.</p><br/>Tasks<br/><p><strong>What You Will Do with Us</strong></p><br/><ul><br/><li>Act as the technical lead on complex projects, ensuring quality standards are met.</li><br/><li>Lead technical discussions with demanding stakeholders, align expectations, and turn ambiguity into clear next steps.</li><br/><li>Anticipate organizational and delivery risks, and address them early through structured communication in complex, high-pressure customer environments.</li><br/><li>Manage complex, critical systems, apply updates, and resolve incidents to keep them on track.</li><br/><li>Plan and implement sophisticated (multi-)cloud or on-premises platforms.</li><br/><li>Provide comprehensive support, tackle high-priority issues, and assist junior and professional team members in critical situations.</li><br/></ul><br/>Requirements<br/><p><strong>Must-Have Hard Skills</strong></p><br/><ul><br/><li><strong>Proficiency in both written and spoken German (communicating with hand signals and gestures won’t cut it for this role, unfortunately).</strong></li><br/><li>Five to eight years of experience as a system engineer in cloud environments.</li><br/><li>A strong DevOps background: CNCF and HashiCorp stacks, GitLab, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm, DevSecOps, IaC, and GitOps are your bread and butter.</li><br/><li>Broad experience in software development, cloud migration, and platform engineering.</li><br/><li>Strong networking skills and the ability to translate advanced concepts into smart network designs.</li><br/><li>Ability to identify security vulnerabilities early and address them effectively.</li><br/><li>Expertise in improving automations and building new ones to enhance operations.</li><br/><li>A sound understanding of how to align technology, architecture, and business requirements in complex customer environments.</li><br/></ul><br/><p><strong>Must-Have Soft Skills</strong></p><br/><ul><br/><li>You understand client needs, navigate demanding stakeholder situations with clarity and tact, and build strong, trust-based relationships.</li><br/><li>You identify risks and dependencies early, address them proactively, and create clarity in complex situations.</li><br/><li>You thrive on challenges and see solutions where others see problems.</li><br/><li>Quality matters to you, and you take full responsibility for your work.</li><br/><li>You work hands-on, support others in critical moments, and keep the right stakeholders aligned.</li><br/></ul><br/><p><strong>Nice-to-Have Qualifications</strong></p><br/><ul><br/><li>GitLab, IBM (HashiCorp), Red Hat, and/or SUSE certifications.</li><br/><li>Experience with SUSE products.</li><br/><li>AWS, Azure, and/or GCP certifications.</li><br/></ul><br/>Benefits<br/><ul><br/><li>We're <strong>REALLY</strong> serious about Open Source.
