You'll own real systems, ship meaningful improvements, and work alongside engineers who care equally about clean code and real-world impact.</p><p><br/></p><ul><li>Build and evolve backend services with <strong>Java 25</strong> and <strong>Spring Boot 4</strong> — from greenfield features to thoughtful modernization of existing systems.</li><li>Design robust REST APIs with proper versioning, documentation, and smooth integration across multiple clients and services.</li><li>Work with data at scale using MySQL, JPA/Hibernate, and Kafka — including schema evolution and performance tuning.</li><li>Own the full lifecycle — write automated tests, review code, and ship through our CI/CD pipeline into AWS.</li><li>Lift the team up by mentoring junior engineers, sharing knowledge, and helping us continuously raise the bar.</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>Your Experience &amp; Personality:</strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Must-haves:</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years building backend web services in production, with strong <strong>Java (and/or Kotlin) + Spring Boot </strong>experience.</li><li>Confidence working with and improving <strong>existing systems</strong> — as well as creating new modules and features.</li><li>Solid grounding in <strong>REST API design</strong>, system integration, and relational databases with ORMs (MySQL, JPA/Hibernate).</li><li>Comfortable with <strong>automated testing, CI/CD, and operating services on AWS</strong>.</li><li>A clean-code mindset, pragmatic about documentation, and genuinely collaborative.</li><li><strong>Fluent English</strong> and at home in an agile, cross-functional team.</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>Nice to have</strong> (don't worry if you tick only a few):</p><ul><li>Light <strong>React / TypeScript</strong> chops — enough to fix a bug or ship a small feature.</li><li>Experience running services on <strong>AWS ECS</strong> (request- or task-based workloads).</li><li><strong>Python</strong> for scripts, tooling, or lightweight services.</li><li>Working across multiple services and client integrations.</li><li>Curiosity about <strong>AI</strong> and using it as part of your daily workflow.</li><li>Experience with <strong>event-driven architectures / Kafka</strong>.</li><li><strong>B2B / SaaS</strong> background.</li><li><strong>German</strong> language skills.</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>What You Can Expect:</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>In addition, we offer all our employees a wide range of benefits and opportunities to combine professional and private life:</p><ul><li>Mobile &amp; flexible working.</li><li>Corporate benefits program.</li><li>15 € subsidy for your Deutschland Ticket (Germany-wide public transport ticket).</li><li>Subsidy for EGYM Wellpass (fitness, sports &amp; wellness).</li><li>Last, but not least, you will find your purpose by developing the next generation health systems!</li></ul> </div>
