We support the finance business partners with the closing-, budget- and forecasting process, review and report on investment projects, drive the driver-based analysis, and provide expertise in the area of specialist financial analysis. As a central part of the Management Reporting, Planning and Analysis team, we additionally drive continuous improvement of all related processes. The team consists of 20+ colleagues working from 10 different locations.<br/><br/><strong>About The Role<br/><br/></strong>As <strong>Senior Financial Analyst </strong>in the Functional Controlling Sales &amp; Revenues team, you will play an essential role in providing in-depth analysis of Sales &amp; Revenues performance. You will be expected to build and maintain a strong relationship with internal stakeholders and Finance Business Partners. The Senior level role requires an elevated level of independence in work, along with a larger and more challenging workload.<br/><br/><strong>Role Responsibilities: <br/><br/></strong><ul><li>Delivering accurate and timely interpretation and commentary on the performance of the Revenue lines and business models</li><li>Ownership of Transformative Agreement Revenue, reporting and implementation of future reporting developments helping drive long term strategies and business decisions</li><li>Interpreting and applying complex contractual, legal, and policy requirements across global Transformative Agreements, ensuring revenue treatment is fully compliant and aligned</li><li>Acting as the analytical bridge between Legal, Open Access and Finance teams to translate contract clauses into financial implications, operational requirements, and reporting rules</li><li>Designing and maintaining a governance framework to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and auditability of TA‑related data flows across systems and manual processes</li><li>Synthesizing revenue insights into clear executive‑level narratives that influence decision‑making for senior leaders and support long‑term strategic planning</li><li>Transforming large and multi‑source datasets into forward‑looking insights and recommendations that shape portfolio strategy, forecasting accuracy, and investment decisions</li><li>Leading multi‑phase initiatives that modernize TA reporting, reduce manual dependencies, and establish scalable, automated solutions aligned with the future-state architecture</li><li>Coordinating cross-functional working groups focused on continuous improvement, harmonization of TA processes, and strategic problem-solving</li><li>Ownership of other revenue lines with associated reporting</li><li>Reconciling sales to revenues to verify completeness and accuracy of business results</li><li>Producing Monthly Revenue reports, showing sales to Revenue Recs and analyzing variances</li><li>Posting structural and ad-hoc adjustment entries to business model performance</li><li>Supporting the forecast and budget processes in cooperation with Finance Business Partners</li><li>Assisting Finance Business Partners with identifying and analyzing key business issues and helping to resolve these</li><li>Performing ad-hoc analysis at request</li><li>Identifying and leading continuous improvement initiatives<br/><br/></li></ul><strong>Experience, Skills &amp; Qualifications: <br/><br/></strong><strong>Essential<br/><br/></strong><ul><li>Degree in Finance or related field and/or comparable qualification</li><li>Demonstrable experience in financial/business controlling/analysis</li><li>Fluent in English (written and spoken)</li><li>Advanced MS Office skills (especially Excel)</li><li>Knowledge of the publishing industry</li><li>Relationship builder and strong Communication Skills</li><li>Ability to solve problems, identify risks and propose solutions</li><li>Strong analytical skills</li><li>Attention to detail</li><li>Ability to work with international, cross-functional teams</li><li>Ability to work under pressure, in a complex environment</li><li>Hands-on and pro-active approach<br/><br/></li></ul><em>Desirable <br/><br/></em><ul><li>Experience in SAP finance/controlling system environment</li><li>Experience with BI solutions and front-end tools</li><li>Business case and financial modelling experience<br/><br/></li></ul>At Springer Nature, we value the diversity of our teams and work to build an inclusive culture, where people are treated fairly and can bring their differences to work and thrive.
