You will work on reliability, observability, automation, security, and CI/CD — and occasionally support backend engineers with troubleshooting or small contributions to our backend services.<br/><br/>This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable systems, improving developer workflows, and driving technical excellence across a growing engineering team.<br/><br/><strong>What You Will Do<br/><br/></strong><ul><li>Own and improve AWS infrastructure across staging and production environments.</li><li>Build, maintain, and standardize Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.</li><li>Manage and optimize containerized workloads on ECS Fargate.</li><li>Strengthen observability: metrics, dashboards, alerting, and logging.</li><li>Improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.</li><li>Enhance IAM, secrets management, and overall cloud security posture.</li><li>Perform maintenance of databases running on RDS (Postgres, MySQL).</li><li>Support backend teams with debugging, migrations, or small changes in Node.js/NestJS when needed.</li><li>Drive automation, reliability, and scalability across the platform.<br/><br/></li></ul><strong>What We’re Looking For<br/><br/></strong><strong>Core Technical Skills<br/><br/></strong><ul><li>AWS Expertise, including but not limited to:</li><ul><li>VPC (subnets, routing, NAT gateways, ALBs, security groups)</li><li>Route53</li><li>ECS (Fargate)</li><li>Lambda</li><li>RDS (MySQL/Postgres)</li><li>SQS/SNS</li><li>CloudWatch</li><li>S3</li></ul><li>Strong experience with Terraform.</li><li>Deep understanding of AWS networking and secure infrastructure design.</li><li>Experience operating RDS (backups, upgrades, failovers, troubleshooting).</li><li>Hands-on CloudWatch experience (metrics, dashboards, Logs Insights, alarms).</li><li>Good understanding of event-driven systems (SQS, SNS, Lambda triggers, retries, DLQs).</li><li>Strong proficiency with Docker and containerized deployments.</li><li>Experience with GitHub Actions and modern CI/CD workflows.</li><li>Programming skills in Python or Golang.</li><li>Working knowledge of Node.js/NestJS to support backend engineers occasionally.<br/></li></ul><strong>Additional Desired Experience<br/><br/></strong><ul><li>Experience with Docker image hardening and optimization (multi-stage builds, non-root users).</li><li>Familiarity with API gateways or automating OpenAPI specifications.</li><li>Experience integrating SSO/SAML/OIDC for cloud and internal tools.</li><li>Experience with KMS (nice to have).</li><li>Experience improving secrets management.</li><li>Experience building reusable CI/CD components (custom GitHub Actions).</li><li>Experience setting up a monitoring stack.</li><li>Familiarity with secure file transfer mechanisms (SFTP/SSH key setups).</li><li>Experience with distributed backend architectures (microservices, event-driven, multi-service systems).<br/><br/></li></ul><strong>Who You Are<br/><br/></strong><ul><li>Have 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.</li><li>You take ownership and think long-term.</li><li>You are systematic, structured, and pragmatic.</li><li>You communicate clearly and proactively.</li><li>You collaborate easily with backend engineers and product teams.</li><li>You bring calmness and maturity during incidents and debugging.</li><li>You are able to quickly learn new technologies and apply them to solve problems.<br/><br/></li></ul><strong>🌐 About Us<br/><br/></strong>We’re Germany’s fastest-growing digital green energy provider and a Certified B Corp™ , driving the energy transition by making renewable energy more accessible and inclusive.<br/><br/>How?
