Because of the security-critical nature of the products, the business is strategically investing in modern on-premise infrastructure, creating highly complex and technically challenging environments that very few organisations operate today.</p><p><br/></p><p>As part of a newly established Infrastructure &amp; DevOps organisation, you will play a key role in shaping and evolving the company's global infrastructure and DevOps landscape.</p><p><br/></p><p>Your Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Plan, design, implement, and automate global IT infrastructure services within an enterprise environment.</li><li>Ensure reliable end-to-end delivery of infrastructure services across servers, virtual machines, storage, networking, and interfaces.</li><li>Take ownership of the enterprise GitLab platform, acting as the internal service provider for development and engineering teams worldwide.</li><li>Administer, configure, and continuously improve GitLab platform services, including GitLab Runners and CI/CD environments.</li><li>Provision, scale, and maintain shared and dedicated GitLab Runner infrastructure to support internal customers and automation initiatives.</li><li>Design, implement, and operate modern container platforms using technologies such as Kubernetes, k3s, Docker, and Podman.</li><li>Standardise, secure, and manage Ubuntu Pro as the organisation's strategic client operating system.</li><li>Provide high-quality 2nd and 3rd level support across global infrastructure and DevOps environments.</li><li>Contribute to the ongoing optimisation and evolution of the global IT and infrastructure architecture.</li><li>Work closely with colleagues across multiple teams and departments, promoting knowledge sharing and delivering excellent internal customer service.</li></ul><p><br/></p><p>Your Profile</p><ul><li>Minimum of 5 years' experience within a global Infrastructure, Systems Engineering, or DevOps environment.</li><li>Strong hands-on expertise administering Linux server environments alongside Microsoft Windows Server.</li><li>Proven experience administering and supporting GitLab, ideally within complex on-premise enterprise environments.</li><li>Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation principles.</li><li>Practical experience with GitLab Runners, including deployment, operation, and lifecycle management.</li><li>Hands-on experience with containerisation technologies including Kubernetes, k3s, Docker, or Podman.</li><li>Experience with virtualisation technologies such as Proxmox VE, Ceph, and Proxmox Backup Server is highly desirable.</li><li>Experience managing and hardening Ubuntu-based client environments.</li><li>Structured, analytical approach to solving complex technical challenges.</li><li>Strong communication skills with a collaborative and service-oriented mindset.</li><li>Fluent German and English language skills.</li></ul><p><br/></p><p>What's on Offer?</p><ul><li>Salary of up to €80,000 depending on experience.</li><li>Hybrid working model with 2-3 days onsite per week in Aachen.</li><li>Ownership of critical GitLab platform and CI/CD infrastructure.</li><li>Opportunity to shape a newly established Infrastructure &amp; DevOps organisation.</li><li>Work with modern technologies including GitLab, Kubernetes, Docker, Proxmox, Ceph, and enterprise Linux platforms.</li><li>Significant influence over infrastructure strategy, architecture, and automation initiatives.</li><li>Exposure to highly secure, business-critical environments supporting customers worldwide.</li><li>Long-term career prospects within a rapidly growing international technology business.</li></ul><p><br/></p><p>If you enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, driving automation initiatives, and working in technically demanding environments where security and reliability are paramount, this could be an excellent next step.</p> </div>
