To strengthen its IT operations team, we are looking for a Senior Database Engineer.<br/><br/>This position requires German fluency. </p><p><strong>Your responsibilities<br/></strong></p><ul> <li>You are responsible for the design, engineering, and operation of central data platforms such as MS SQL Server, MariaDB, and Oracle, including monitoring<br/> </li> <li>You specify system architectures and software solutions and define the technical resources required for them<br/> </li> <li>You lead projects and ongoing developments, including technical lifecycle initiatives, ensuring successful delivery in terms of quality, time, and budget<br/> </li> <li>You advise and support internal stakeholders on technical questions related to the organization's services, particularly on architecture, security, performance, and operational matters<br/> </li> <li>With your open, honest, and empathetic approach, you contribute to the development of the team<br/> </li> <li>As part of the team, you take part in on-call duty for the platforms and, together with external operating partners, ensure quality, security, and availability <br/><br/><br/></li></ul>Requirements<br/><br/><ul> <li>A degree (university of applied sciences or higher) in computer science, systems engineering, or an equivalent qualification<br/> </li> <li>Solid expertise in building, operating, and developing highly available MS SQL configurations (AlwaysOn), with experience in performance tuning, security, upgrades, and disaster recovery<br/> </li> <li>Scripting experience with T-SQL and PowerShell; experience with MySQL/MariaDB/Oracle is an advantage<br/> </li> <li>Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instances<br/> </li> <li>Openness to also supporting integration topics (streaming with Kafka / IBM webMethods ESB)<br/> </li> <li>Fluent in German</li></ul> </div>
