Background and purpose of the role</p><p>Data for Change - the PARIS21 Foundation is an independent non-profit foundation registered in Geneva, Switzerland. The Foundation works to strengthen the production, use and discoverability of trusted data in ways that support better decisions, public value and sustainable development, with a focus on emerging economies.</p><p>The Foundation operates at the intersection of official data and statistics, international cooperation, innovation, academia, and emerging technologies. Its work increasingly combines practical project implementation with strategic convening, communications, donor engagement and ecosystem-building in Geneva and beyond.</p><p>The Foundation is now looking for a Project Manager to support its next phase of growth. This is a hands-on, outward-facing role for someone who works independently, can manage projects professionally while also helping grow the Foundation's visibility, partnerships and operational presence on the ground in Geneva.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>2. Objective of the assignment</p><p>The Project Manager will lead the Foundation's projects, accounts, controlling, and budgeting, partnerships and visibility, with a strong focus on Geneva-based relationship building and implementation support. The person will work closely with the Board, consultants, project partners and donors to ensure that the Foundation remains strategic, credible, responsive and well-positioned in a fast-moving data and AI landscape.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Current projects and strategic priorities include:</p><p>· The Foundation's implementation partner role in the Trusted Data Observatory (TDO), a Geneva-relevant initiative, spearheaded by Switzerland and its Swiss Federal Statistics Office (FSO) focused on making trusted data discoverable, interpretable and usable in AI-enabled environments.</p><p>· A partnership with the University of Geneva's SDG Solution Space, including teaching contributions, student engagement, challenge-based learning and hackathons.</p><p>· Applied work on AI in local languages in Zambia, including innovation partnerships and ecosystem engagement.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>3. Key responsibilitiesProject management and delivery</p><p>· Manage and coordinate the implementation of Foundation projects and workstreams, ensuring timely delivery of outputs, follow-up and reporting.</p><p>· Lead project design, work planning, partner coordination, risk tracking and operational problem-solving across multiple initiatives.</p><p>· Draft and review concept notes, donor updates, presentations, meeting briefs and other project documentation.</p><p><br/></p><p>Geneva engagement and partnership development</p><p>· Represent the Foundation in Geneva-based meetings, events and partner discussions, and help grow its profile in the Geneva data, AI and international cooperation ecosystem.</p><p>· Build and maintain relationships with international organisations, foundations, academic institutions, civil society actors and private-sector partners.</p><p>· Identify new collaboration opportunities that strengthen the Foundation's positioning, funding pipeline and practical relevance.</p><p>· Secure the link between the Foundation and PARIS21, and develop a strategy how both organizations can profit from each other.</p><p><br/></p><p>Fundraising, communications and institutional support</p><p>· Contribute to fundraising efforts, donor outreach and the preparation of pitches and proposals in close coordination with the Board.</p><p>· Support strategic communications for the Foundation, including external presence on the website, LinkedIn, event materials and project visibility.</p><p>· Prepare Board-related materials as needed, including agendas, background notes, minutes and follow-up actions.</p><p><br/></p><p>Operational coordination</p><p>· Coordinate with legal, accounting and audit counterparts where needed to support sound administration and compliance.</p><p>· Maintain an organised overview of deliverables, deadlines, partner inputs and internal follow-up points and administer the annual audit report to the Swiss supervisory authority.</p><p>· Select, oversee and support the work of one or two interns working for the foundation.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>4. Profile soughtEducation</p><p>Advanced university degree, or equivalent professional experience, in international relations, political science, development studies, public policy, economics, social sciences, communications, innovation management or a related field with exposure to and first experience in data and statistics.</p><p><br/></p><p>Professional experience</p><p>· At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in project management, partnerships, donor-facing work, programme coordination or ecosystem engagement.</p><p>· Experience working in or with international organisations, foundations, research institutions, NGOs or the broader development and data ecosystem.</p><p>· Demonstrated ability to manage several workstreams at once while maintaining clarity, responsiveness and high-quality outputs.</p><p>· Experience in Geneva or strong familiarity with the Geneva international ecosystem is a strong asset.</p><p>· Exposure to official data and statistics, data governance, AI for public interest, innovation ecosystems, and partnerships in low- and middle-income countries would be highly valuable.</p><p><br/></p><p>Core competencies</p><p>· Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with confidence in engaging senior and diverse counterparts.</p><p>· Strong drafting and synthesis skills, including the ability to prepare concise, polished and strategic written materials.</p><p>· Entrepreneurial attitude, sound judgement and the ability to work autonomously in a small and dynamic organisation.</p><p>· Comfort working across strategy, operations, communications and partnership development.</p><p>· Ability to represent the Foundation professionally and credibly in external settings.</p><p>· Knowledge and expertise in/of the field of data and statistics.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>Technical and practical skills</p><p>· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and standard digital collaboration tools.</p><p>· Good organisational skills and comfort with remote coordination and flexible work arrangements.</p><p>· Excellent knowledge management, documentation and folder structure.</p><p>· Reside in Geneva canton or ability to relocate there.</p><p><br/></p><p>Languages</p><p>· Fluency in English, written and spoken, is required.</p><p>· Advanced French is required.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>5. Indicative contractual approach</p><p>The position is expected to begin in July 2026 under a consultancy arrangement. Final contract duration, workload and daily rate will be determined based on funding availability, the candidate profile and organisational needs.
