<div class="show-more-less-html__markup show-more-less-html__markup--clamp-after-5 relative overflow-hidden"> <p><strong>Principal Cloud Engineer</strong></p><p>Berlin, Germany (Hybrid)</p><p>Cloud Platforms | SaaS | Technology Scale-Ups</p><p><br/></p><p>For one of our clients, a fast-growing technology scale-up based in Berlin, we are looking for a <strong>Principal Cloud Engineer</strong> to lead the design, evolution, and scalability of the cloud platform underpinning its products, engineering workflows, and customer-facing services.</p><p><br/></p><p>This is a senior technical leadership role for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, defining platform strategy, and building the cloud foundations that allow engineering teams to move quickly, securely, and reliably at scale.</p><p><br/></p><p>You’ll work closely with engineering leadership, platform teams, security, and software engineers to shape a modern cloud environment that supports ambitious product growth across Europe and beyond.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Technical Environment</strong></p><p>• AWS or GCP</p><p>• Kubernetes</p><p>• Terraform</p><p>• CI/CD Pipelines</p><p>• Linux</p><p>• Cloud Security &amp; Observability</p><p>• Distributed Systems &amp; Scalable Infrastructure</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>What You’ll Be Doing</strong></p><p>• Leading the design and evolution of cloud infrastructure across production environments</p><p>• Defining best practices for scalability, reliability, automation, and security</p><p>• Driving infrastructure strategy across platform, DevOps, and cloud architecture initiatives</p><p>• Building and improving Infrastructure as Code, deployment workflows, and platform tooling</p><p>• Supporting engineering teams with resilient, self-service cloud environments</p><p>• Improving system observability, incident response, and operational performance</p><p>• Partnering with engineering leadership on long-term platform architecture decisions</p><p>• Mentoring engineers and raising the overall technical maturity of the infrastructure organisation</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Experience Required</strong></p><p>• 7+ years in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related roles</p><p>• Strong hands-on experience with large-scale cloud infrastructure in AWS, GCP, or similar environments</p><p>• Deep experience with Kubernetes and containerised production systems</p><p>• Proven Infrastructure as Code expertise using Terraform or similar tools</p><p>• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, scalability, and resilience</p><p>• Experience designing infrastructure for high-growth SaaS or cloud-native product environments</p><p>• Ability to lead technically while remaining close to implementation and engineering delivery</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p><p>• Multi-cloud experience</p><p>• GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD or FluxCD</p><p>• Experience building internal developer platforms or platform-as-a-product environments</p><p>• FinOps / cloud cost optimisation experience</p><p>• Strong observability stack experience (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, etc.)</p><p>• Experience mentoring senior engineers or acting as a technical lead across platform teams</p> </div>
