We build action models for the physical world: we create efficient AI surrogate models and use them for optimal decision-making in industrial and business operations. We are currently active in weather-sensitive industries such as aviation, and plan to expand into sectors like energy, insurance, and logistics.</p><p><br/></p><p>We've secured around CHF 200k in non-dilutive funding so far and we're preparing for our first fundraise. That's what lets us bring on a technical intern, working directly with the two founders.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>The role</strong></p><p>This is a hands-on internship focused on experimentation. Right now we need extra technical firepower to prototype and test ideas we don't have the bandwidth to chase ourselves. You'll work directly with the two (technical) founders and get real ownership of your own experiments. Specifically, you'll:</p><p>• Prototype and test ML ideas across our stack: fast, exploratory work to see what's promising.</p><p>• Dig into one or more of our core areas: adapting AI weather models, optimization, and reinforcement learning for decision-making.</p><p>• Build proofs of concept, run experiments, and benchmark approaches.</p><p>• Turn promising results into clean, reusable code.</p><p>• Share findings with the founders to help shape our technical direction.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>The role is for you if</strong></p><p>• You're currently studying or recently finished a degree in ML, computer science, applied maths, physics, engineering, or a related field.</p><p>• You have solid, hands-on ML experience and can go from idea to working code quickly.</p><p>• You bring strong interest or experience in at least one of: AI weather (or physics-based / scientific ML) models, optimization, or reinforcement learning / decision-making under uncertainty.</p><p>• Bonus: hands-on experience in one application domain: aviation, energy, or robotics.</p><p>• You're fluent in Python and modern ML tooling (e.g. PyTorch / JAX).</p><p>• You're comfortable with research-style ambiguity: self-directed, curious, and biased toward shipping experiments fast.</p><p>• <strong>Essential:</strong> You're already based in (or near) Zurich.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>The details</strong></p><p>• Internship, part-time or full-time, with flexible duration to fit your studies or schedule.</p><p>• Start date: flexible.</p><p>• Hybrid, based in Zurich.</p><p>• Paid internship, plus a front-row seat at an early-stage deep-tech company and the chance to grow with it.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>How to apply</strong></p><p>Send a short note on why this role fits you, plus your CV (and links to any relevant projects, papers, or code), to hello@omenic.ai.
