<div class="show-more-less-html__markup show-more-less-html__markup--clamp-after-5 relative overflow-hidden"> <p>We have a permanent opportunity available for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to lead a <strong>Greenfield Sovereign Cloud </strong>development project. <br/><br/></p>Our client is building a sovereign, high-availability public cloud infrastructure from the ground up.We are looking for a technical architect to build the foundation of our future infrastructure using <strong>OpenStack</strong>. <br/><br/>You will be instrumental in creating a self-managing environment powered by<strong> AI agents</strong> and transforming large-scale <strong>data centre operations</strong>.<br/><p><br/></p><strong>Responsibilities<br/><br/></strong><ul> <li><p><strong>Lead the strategic migration</strong> from legacy environments to a sovereign OpenStack-based cloud, ensuring seamless integration of compute, storage, and networking on bare metal.<br/></p></li> <li><p><strong>Architect and manage complex networking systems</strong>, including SDN, BGP routing, and advanced firewall rule sets to ensure a secure and scalable infrastructure.<br/></p></li> <li><p><strong>Drive total automation</strong> through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using SaltStack, developing <strong>self-healing systems</strong> that identify and resolve anomalies autonomously.<br/></p></li> <li><p><strong>Develop and implement AI Ops</strong> by building AI agents to handle complex tasks such as VM provisioning and firewall clearances.<br/></p></li> <li><p><strong>Perform full-stack integration</strong> by developing backend services for APIs and optimising orchestration scripts to bridge infrastructure gaps.<br/></p></li> <li><p><strong>Provide high-level mentoring</strong> to junior staff and apprentices, sharing expertise on modern, automated data centre operations.<br/><br/><br/><br/><br/></p></li></ul>Requirements<br/><br/><li><p>Professional experience with <strong>OpenStack</strong>.<br/></p></li><li><p><strong>Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC)</strong> tools, with experience in <strong>Ansible or Terraform</strong> for automated environment provisioning.<br/></p></li><li><p>Technical proficiency in <strong>Linux </strong>environments (Debian), with a commitment to defining infrastructure through code.<br/></p></li><li><p><strong>Knowledge of networking protocols</strong>, including BGP, Anycast, and SDN is preferred. <br/></p></li><li><p><strong>A developer mindset</strong> with the ability to write and optimise code in languages such as <strong>Python or C#</strong> to build custom tools and integrate APIs is ideal.<br/></p></li><li><p><strong>A forward-thinking interest in AI</strong> and its application in managing large-scale virtualised environments.<br/></p></li><li><p><strong>Proven seniority</strong> in high-pressure data centre environments with the ability to maintain stability and foresight during critical incidents.<br/></p></li><li><p><strong>Fluent in both German and English.<br/></strong></p></li><li><p><strong>Eligibility Residency in Germany.<br/><br/><br/><br/></strong></p></li>Benefits<br/><br/><li><p><strong>Technological freedom</strong> to help shape a new stack from the ground up without the constraints of proprietary licensing.<br/></p></li><li><p><strong>A "maker" culture</strong> that values action over unnecessary meetings, providing the hardware and short decision-making paths needed to innovate.<br/></p></li><li><p><strong>Access to the latest AI-driven development tools</strong> to support your daily operations.<br/></p></li><li><p><strong>Professional growth</strong> <br/></p></li><li><p><strong>Annual salary and benefits package available.<br/><br/><br/><br/></strong></p></li> </div>
