At the same time, modern surgery has moved on — many procedures that still mean an overnight stay no longer medically require one. The result: patients stay longer than they need to, infrastructure carries avoidable load, and the system absorbs costs it could avoid.

We're building a new generation of ambulatory surgery centres in Germany to change this. Software-driven from day one. Designed to get people back to their lives faster, and to make outpatient surgery the default — not the exception.

Healthcare is a complex space. We are set up to make a difference: Our leadership team has built and scaled 5+ successful ventures; we are backed by top tech and healthcare investors; and with multiple clinical partners onboard we are ready to move fast.

What you’ll do

You take product ownership of TokuraOS — the “orchestration engine” that sits on top of existing clinic stacks, orchestrating the entire care pathway end to end, from patient intake to surgery, recovery, and daily operations, connecting digital patient journeys, on-site infrastructure, and a unified data layer into a production-grade platform. Greenfield. Built to work when a surgeon is standing in the operating room. Built to scale across 100+ clinics.

What the role offers

First product hire. Clear path to building, shaping and leading the product organisation alongside our CPTO. A rare opportunity to define a mission-critical product from ground-up.

Real ownership from day 1. You shape the vision, define the roadmap, own how the product behaves in real clinic environments, and drive the end user change management. You'll split your time between product development — deciding what we build, for whom, and why it matters — and hands-on field research in and out of the OR.

Strategic freedom by design. We have a strong hypothesis on what we need to build when, but the final product roadmap is intentionally open, to be co-shaped with you.

“Full-stack” in the truest sense. We're not just building a technical product — we're building and operating physical clinics; harder than a pure software play, but far more impactful.

Small, top-tier, high-trust team. You’ll work side by side with our CPTO (serial tech founder (YCombinator), ex-McK) and an experienced founder-duo that has built and scaled multiple hyper-growth startups to 400+ employees.

What you bring

Essential

You've shaped products with meaningful usage in complex, real-world environments.

The ability to translate the messy reality of a care journey into an experience that feels genuinely different — for patients, providers, and the broader care team. From intake to post-op recovery: every touchpoint is yours to understand deeply and shape optimally.

You are a strategic thinker, bring structure to any analysis, have an eye for design. You are comfortable in the space where product meets tech.

A strong pull toward learning. Trajectory matters more than credentials and experience.

Structured thinking, clear communication. You build trust quickly, whether you're with a surgeon, a nurse, or a patient.

High ownership, reliability, and a bias toward shipping with fast feedback loops.

Bonus

Prior experience working with sensitive data and/ or in regulated environments where compliance and data protection are design constraints, not afterthoughts.

Healthcare/ healthtech background.

Logistics

Berlin. On-site. Start ASAP.

Attractive compensation with meaningful equity upside.

Professional German required.

We value judgment over process, clarity over complexity, and systems that work over systems that impress. We believe the best products emerge when everyone understands the real environments their work serves and takes ownership of what we design, build, and ship.

If this resonates, let’s talk.
