DevOps Engineer

Email remains the #1 channel for global business, and we power it with secure, scalable infrastructure for some of the most demanding environments.</p><p><br/></p><p>As we enter the next phase of our growth, we’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Tech team. You’ll play a key role in building, scaling, and operating the infrastructure that protects our customers from spam and malware with real ownership and impact from day one.</p><p><br/></p><p>If you enjoy working on complex systems, taking ownership, and solving real-world scaling challenges, this role is built for you.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong> What you will own:</strong></p><p><br/></p><ul><li>Ensure high availability and reliability of our production systems</li><li>Design, build, and scale our infrastructure to support growing customer demand</li><li>Automate operational processes and improve system efficiency</li><li>Operate and continuously improve our production environment</li><li>Analyze incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive long-term improvements</li><li>Evaluate and implement new technologies (POCs)</li><li>Collaborate closely with engineering teams to design and support new features</li><li>Maintain clear and structured documentation of systems and processes</li><li>Participate in an on-call rotation (2-week shifts)</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>What makes you successful at Halon:</strong></p><p><br/></p><ul><li>5+ years of experience in Linux system administration (preferably Debian)</li><li>Experience with at least one of the following: Kubernetes, Kafka, or Elastic</li><li>Strong knowledge of tools such as Ansible, Git, GitLab CI, NGINX, or similar</li><li>Solid understanding of automation, infrastructure, and system reliability</li><li>Hands-on mindset and ability to work in complex environments</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn</li><li>Good communication skills and experience working in international teams</li><li>Basic knowledge of networking, firewalls, and load balancers (deeper expertise is a plus)</li><li>Fluent in English (German is a plus, but not required)</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>Why you’ll love working at Halon:</strong></p><p><br/></p><ul><li>An exciting role with a high level of responsibility in an innovative email security company</li><li>A collaborative and supportive team environment with strong engineering culture</li><li>Flexible working setup with regular remote options</li><li>Edenred card, public transport subsidy, and attractive employee discounts</li><li>30 days of vacation plus additional time off on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve</li></ul><p></p> </div>
