This is a high-impact individual contributor role; you won't manage a team, and you will set the technical direction, own the architecture of clients' AI systems, and be the go-to expert the rest of the organization leans on.</p><p>You'll work across the full lifecycle, from research and prototyping through to production-grade solutions. Coordinating a network of developers. If you've shipped LLM-powered products and can move fluidly between hands-on engineering and strategic thinking, this role is for you.</p><p>Proficiency in English is required. </p>What You'll Do<ul><li>Design, build, and optimize LLM-based systems — including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and agent frameworks</li><li>Evaluate and select foundation models based on performance, cost, and latency trade-offs</li><li>Own the end-to-end ML lifecycle: data preparation, experimentation, deployment, and monitoring</li><li>Translate complex business problems into well-scoped AI (and also not AI) solutions with measurable outcomes</li><li>Collaborate closely with tax experts and clients to shape their AI roadmap</li><li>Stay ahead of the rapidly evolving GenAI landscape and bring relevant advances into our stack</li></ul>What You Bring<ul><li><strong>7+ years</strong> in data science or machine learning, with <strong>2+ years focused on LLMs and Generative AI</strong></li><li>Master's or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field</li><li>Deep hands-on experience with NLP: transformer architectures, embeddings, text generation, and information extraction</li><li>Strong Python engineering skills, you write production-quality code</li><li>Proven track record working with LLM frameworks and tools (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, vLLM, HuggingFace)</li><li>Experience deploying models at scale in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)</li></ul>Nice to Have<ul><li>Experience with knowledge graphs, ontologies, or structured data in combination with LLMs</li><li>Background in the information services, legal tech, or financial data industry</li><li>Published research or open-source contributions in NLP or Generative AI</li><li>Familiarity with MLOps tooling: experiment tracking, model registries, CI/CD for ML</li></ul>Why Join Us<ul><li><strong>Full remote</strong> — work from anywhere in Austria</li><li><strong>IC leadership</strong> — shape the direction without the overhead of people management</li><li><strong>Cutting-edge work</strong> — this isn't a support role; you're helping build the organization</li></ul>How to Apply<p>Apply directly on LinkedIn or send your CV and a brief note on a GenAI project you're proud of to brigitte@thetaxgraph.ai </p><p>We review applications on a rolling basis.
