You will help us move from traditional Big Data and DWH landscapes towards a modern, cloud-enabled Data &amp; AI platform based on Databricks on Azure.</p><p>This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working hands-on with data and models, and helping shape how Data Science is done on a modern enterprise platform. You will contribute to use cases such as customer analytics, churn and prediction models, network and geospatial analytics, anomaly detection, AI-supported decisioning, and new ML/AI opportunities across the organization.</p><p>You will join at an exciting point in our journey: our new unified analytics platform is moving from evaluation and setup into implementation and production-readiness. That means you will not only use the platform — you can actively influence how Data Science, ML and AI use cases are built, deployed and scaled at Drei.<br/><br/></p><strong><strong>Was du bei uns machst:<br/><br/></strong></strong><ul><li>Develop and improve machine-learning and statistical models for real business challenges, including classification, forecasting, anomaly detection, clustering, predictive analytics and optimization.</li><li>Work with large, complex, structured and unstructured datasets from different source systems.</li><li>Support the development of end-to-end ML and AI use cases — from data exploration and feature engineering to model training, validation, deployment and monitoring.</li><li>Bring a Data Science perspective into our Databricks implementation and help establish scalable ways of working for ML and AI on a modern cloud data platform.</li><li>Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, DWH Developers, BI Developers, Architects, Product Owners, Operation Teams and business departments.</li><li>Translate complex analytical results into clear recommendations, visualizations and business-relevant insights.</li><li>Help identify new ML, AI and GenAI use cases and evaluate where modern tools can reduce time-to-market.</li><li>Contribute to best practices around MLOps, model lifecycle management, reproducibility, governance and responsible AI.</li><li>Work in an agile team that values ownership, curiosity, pragmatic problem solving and continuous learning.<br/><br/></li></ul><strong><strong>Das bringst du mit:<br/><br/></strong></strong><ul><li>Several years of practical experience in Data Science, Machine Learning or Applied Statistics.</li><li>Strong Python and SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.</li><li>Solid knowledge of statistical modelling and machine-learning methods, e.g. regression, classification, clustering, gradient boosting, random forests, XGBoost, time-series modelling or anomaly detection.</li><li>Experience with the full Data Science lifecycle: exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model training, hyperparameter tuning, validation, interpretation and communication of results.</li><li>Experience deploying or operationalizing ML models, ideally in production or near-production environments.</li><li>Familiarity with PySpark, Spark-based processing or Big Data environments.</li><li>Interest in modern cloud-native Data &amp; AI platforms — ideally Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, MLflow, Unity Catalog, Terraform or comparable technologies.</li><li>Interest or experience in GenAI, LLMs, AI Agents, NLP, embeddings, RAG patterns or AI-assisted development.</li><li>Ability to explain complex analytical and technical topics clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>A structured, independent and solution-oriented working style.</li><li>Strong team spirit and openness to working in an agile setup.</li><li>Excellent English skills; German is an advantage.<br/><br/>Nice to have:</li><li>Experience with Databricks, Azure, MLflow, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog or cloud-native MLOps.</li><li>Experience with geospatial analytics, location data, coordinates, grids or network-related analytics.</li><li>Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.</li><li>Knowledge of responsible AI, data governance, model monitoring or AI compliance topics.</li><li>Experience with visualization and storytelling tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar.</li><li>Experience in telecommunications, customer analytics, network analytics or large-scale enterprise data environments.<br/><br/>Why this role is exciting:</li><li>Work on complex and meaningful use cases: You will work with large-scale telco data and analytical challenges that go beyond standard reporting.</li><li>Shape a new Data &amp; AI platform: Drei is introducing a modern Databricks-based analytics platform, creating new possibilities for Data Science, ML and AI.</li><li>Create visible impact: Your work can influence business decisions, customer experience, network insights and the future of data-driven work at Drei.</li><li>Move models closer to production: You will help us bridge the gap between experimentation and scalable, governed implementation.</li><li>Use modern tools: You will work with cloud-native technologies, Big Data tooling, MLOps concepts and emerging AI capabilities.</li><li>Collaborate across domains: You will work together with experts from Big Data, DWH, BI, architecture, IT security, governance and business departments.</li><li>Keep learning: The role offers room to grow into new technologies, platform capabilities and AI use cases.</li></ul><li><br/><br/></li><strong><strong>Was wir bieten:<br/><br/></strong></strong><p>Your advantages and benefits at Drei. The role will be structured as an all-inclusive employment contract.
