We are a compact, established team looking for an engineer to join us here in Vienna.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>We are looking for an experienced DevOps / Backend Engineer to join us as a key pillar of our technical team. In this role, you will act as the sparring partner to our CTO, bridging the gap between scalable backend architecture and robust, secure cloud deployment. You will work directly with our software and machine learning engineers to ensure our infrastructure is highly available, performant, and built on strict privacy-by-design principles. We need a builder who is comfortable taking ownership of the deployment lifecycle and the backend APIs that power our AI platform.<br/></p><p><strong>What You Will Do</strong></p><ul><li>Architect, build, and oversee the cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for our core platforms.</li><li>Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable backend services and APIs.</li><li>Automate deployments, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot infrastructure issues (DevSecOps).</li><li>Collaborate with engineering, legal, and compliance experts to ensure our architecture adheres to the highest European data privacy standards.</li><li>Act as the primary infrastructure strategist, laying the groundwork for how we scale our products in the future.<br/></li></ul><p><strong>What We Are Looking For</strong></p><ul><li>3+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Backend Engineering or a similar technical role.</li><li>Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript.</li><li>Hands-on experience building and securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or ideally European providers like OVH, Scaleway) and managing containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes).</li><li>Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and CI/CD automation.</li><li>A strong understanding of data privacy frameworks (e.g. GDPR) and how to implement technical controls at the infrastructure and backend level.</li><li>Professional working proficiency in English.<br/></li></ul><p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p><ul><li><strong>A Calm Culture:</strong> We are a startup without a hustle-culture.
